Abstract
This project studies the techniques and alternatives available to port the monolithic Linux kernel on top of the more portable, flexible and extensible Mach microkernel model. The main idea to exploit is to implement Linux as an application program running as a user process on top of Mach, as was successfully implemented with the 4.3BSD UNIX system.
